Mastering the Art of Intention” – Enjoy the latest excerpt from “Cast Your Light,” coming soon from the Author KJ Carleo, Founder and CEO of Cast Your Light Publishing.

While often used interchangeably, willpower and intention are distinct forces in achieving our goals. Willpower is the forceful effort, the internal push to achieve something even when motivation wanes. It’s akin to a muscle, requiring exertion and prone to fatigue. Think of it as forcing yourself to climb a mountain through sheer grit, even when your body screams for rest.  Intention, on the other hand, is about aligning your energy with your desired outcome. It’s not about forcing, but attracting. It taps into a limitless wellspring of energy, the universal creative force, and grows stronger the more we align with it.  Intention is visualizing yourself already standing atop that mountain, feeling the exhilaration of success, and trusting that the path will unfold.  While willpower focuses on “doing,” intention emphasizes “being” – becoming the kind of person who naturally attracts their desires. Both have their place, but by cultivating a strong intention and aligning with the universal flow, we tap into a more sustainable and empowering energy to support us on our journey. Intention emphasizes ‘being’ – becoming the kind of person who naturally attracts their desires.

Imagine a vast, unseen orchestra. Not one with violins and cellos, but an orchestra of pure energy, vibrating with the music of creation. Every being, every atom, every thought and emotion contributes a unique note to this cosmic symphony.  And within this grand ensemble, you hold an instrument of immense power: your intention.

“You’ll see it when you believe it.” – Dr. Wayne Dyer

Intention is not merely wishful thinking; it’s a force, a field of energy that ripples through the fabric of the universe, a vibration that hums within your very being, connecting you to the symphony of creation. It’s the silent language of the cosmos, a language whispered on the wind, woven into the tapestry of existence, and you, my friend, are fluent in it, whether you realize it or not. Every thought, every desire, every dream you hold sends a ripple through this field of intention, shaping the reality you experience.

Think of a time you felt truly aligned with your purpose, when your actions flowed effortlessly, and the world seemed to conspire to assist you – perhaps a moment of creative breakthrough, a heartfelt connection with another soul, or a serendipitous encounter that opened a new door in your life.  That was the symphony of creation in its purest form, a harmonious convergence of your inner being and the universal flow. You were playing your instrument in harmony with the universe, your intentions resonating with the divine melody, each note a perfect expression of your authentic self.  The boundaries between you and the world dissolved, and you experienced the effortless grace of being in perfect sync with the cosmic dance.

“The strongest force in the universe is a human being living consistently with his intention.” – Carlos Castaneda

But what happens when we lose that connection? When self-doubt creeps in like a persistent fog, fear takes hold, whispering doubts and anxieties in our ears, and our intentions become clouded with negativity, casting shadows on our path? The music of our lives becomes discordant, our notes clashing with the universal rhythm, creating a cacophony of inner turmoil and outer struggle. We feel lost in a maze of our own making, stuck in a rut of limiting beliefs, out of sync with the flow of life that once carried us effortlessly towards our dreams.  The world, which once seemed to conspire in our favor, now appears indifferent or even hostile, reflecting back the disharmony within us.
