Positive thoughts or affirmations are equally powerful as negative thoughts, and evidence suggests that they may even be more potent. Positive thoughts expand one’s sense of possibility and increase the number of available options, opening up the mind to new possibilities. Ultimately, it’s the action and results that matter most, rather than merely the thoughts. In most cases, negative thoughts stem from a previous experience in which an ill-perceived conception of what the outcome would be grossly miscalculated.
To maintain motivation, it’s essential to reaffirm one’s underlying assertion and acknowledge their potential, which exists within each individual, whether they choose to acknowledge it or not. In situations where motivation is lacking, it’s helpful to re-energize oneself by acknowledging their abilities and potential, and reaffirming their goals to encourage action towards achieving them.
A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. ~ George Bernard Shaw
You can do anything, really – you can. “You can do anything” may sound like an oversimplification, but it’s a positive affirmation that can remind you of your unstoppable potential once you set your mind to something. To bolster your confidence, it’s helpful to shift your mindset from why you can’t do something to why you can. Start by saying, “Here’s why I can,” and identify reasons that support your ability to achieve your goal. Whether you visualize, jot down, or hold onto them mentally, these reasons can form the foundation of a clear plan to accomplish shortterm goals.
Always remember that you deserve more. A better life, whether that means a promotion, a better body, or more responsibility, is within reach, but it requires effort. The word “deserve” comes from Latin, meaning “to serve well,” indicating that you need to demonstrate your worthiness through hard work. Be prepared to defend and prove your worthiness by having a clear, concise plan and being ready to act upon it.
It’s never too late to make a decision and start anew, regardless of your age or missed opportunities. Challenges will inevitably present themselves on your journey, but you cannot let them deter you from reaching your goals. Overcoming obstacles requires practice, but as you get better at it, you’ll be able to anticipate challenges and overcome them with ease. Don’t wait for the “perfect” time or plan; instead, take action now and adjust as necessary.
I desire. I am willing. I am ready. I will. It is up to ME. Make this your daily MANTRA.
