“The Cellular Symphony of Positivity” – Enjoy the latest excerpt from “Cast Your Light,” coming soon from the Author KJ Carleo, Founder and CEO of Cast Your Light Publishing.
Let’s be honest – when it comes to embracing positivity and initiating positive actions, most people would rather withhold and contemplate that “tomorrow” they will find time to bring more joy and positive action to their life. Some examples might be exercising more, making healthier food choices, or demonstrating more gratitude for what they have – even though they know full well that these actions will assist them in carrying out the life they know they deserve.
You can choose – right now – to respond in real-time to those around you and your environment in a more positive manner, just like the cells of your body. In an effort to assist you in leading a more positive and exciting life, here are three things excitable cells have proven to the scientific community:
A positive attitude is innate in all of us.
Stop blaming negativity on outside forces such as consequences, life experiences, your parents, your relationships – whatever. There is no plausible reason why you cannot be more positive, so let’s take a look back at your cells for a moment. Your cells are remaining positive every moment of your life, and their positivity is sustaining you. When you are being negative, your cells are fighting to remain positive. Constantly allowing any type of negativity in your life risks introducing that same negativity to your very cells. If you don’t believe this, think about the last time you had a negative experience. You felt like garbage, didn’t you? How is that possible? How is it possible that negative thoughts or emotions made your actual body feel bad? Well, we answered that at the onset of this chapter. Read it back.
Be a conduit for positivity!
Actively prevent negative energy from entering your existence and allow new positive energy to enter you so that it can strengthen the positivity that already exists there. Just like your muscles, positivity requires training as well. The more you repeat the action of positivity, the better you will get at it. Take every opportunity, no matter how inconsequential you think it might be, to practice positivity. Start with you, and you will undoubtedly share that positive attitude with others. Again – like the example of negativity above, think about some person, place, or thing that puts you in a positive mindset. It makes you feel physically good, doesn’t it? Sometimes to the point where you experience euphoria, and it feels physically good like your cells are cell-ebrating (pun intended). Practice congratulating yourself, not in a self-centered way, and it must be AUTHENTIC. If you accomplish some goal, happen to have a good hair day, obtain a personal best on a PFT or CFT, or shoot expert on the rifle range, congratulate yourself and really mean it. You were born with billions of excitable cells, yielding excited yourself. Rinse and repeat – DAILY, or as often as possible. When left to its own devices, negativity will only breed more negativity. Here’s the good news, the same goes for POSITIVITY!
Share positivity with those around you.
Just as great leaders produce more leaders, positive people share positivity with others. If you come across someone negative, try to share a little positivity in hopes you can kick them of their bad habit. Meeting negativity with more negativity is NEVER the right approach. You will undoubtedly come across those out there that feel “at home” with a negative attitude, and that is unfortunate because people that are like-minded will inevitably gravitate towards them. Regardless of their negative demeanor, meet them with kindness, understanding, and POSITIVITY. Over time, the few positive cells you manifest in their existence will share positive impulses with other cells. The majority of people appreciate positivity, and the more you share it with them, the more you exercise it in your own life, thus reinforcing it.
